On November 13, EXA shipped 3 new ultra-thin micro satellite size DMSA Solar Arrays of 140W and 205W yield to a US customer. These arrays are not the run-of-the-mill, ordinary solar arrays but ultra thin (4 mm only), high yield solar arrays for a spacecraft with high constraints in ADCS turn settle time (under 5 seconds).
Equipped with special hardware for locking the arrays in place for high-G maneuvers, these arrays have onboard deploy/release sensors, automated, high security, high speed release circuitry as well as high reliability HDRMs, temperature and solar sensor arrays, they can withstand up to 180C and as low as -70C.
